Roost is a platform. The family chooses the caregiver, agrees the hours and the rate with them, and pays them; Roost charges the family a platform fee on top of that rate. Roost provides no care, employs nobody and is not a party to the arrangement. Every caregiver has had a criminal background check through a consumer reporting agency before their profile is listed.
